As from the academic year 2007-2008, the University of Antwerp runs a Master's programme in Economic Policy, taught in English. The programme takes one academic year.Purpose of the programme
The Master's programme in Economic Policy helps students to analyse the wide range of problems facing economic policy makers and to understand the background to political decision-making. The programme offers students an advanced knowledge of macro-economics, econometrics and philosophy of economics. Furthermore, students specialise by choosing a major:
Major in Economic PolicyStudents in this major will gain a deeper understanding of different areas of economic policy: labour economics, economic growth and fluctuations, health economics, public finance, competition policy and regulation, monetary economics, transport, mobility and the environment.
Major in Research MethodologyStudents in this major are trained in research design and game theory. They will enhance their knowledge on quantitative methods such as multivariate data-analysis, time series analysis, real options, operations research and game theory. The acquired competences are a significant asset to students who aim at a research career at universities, private or public research institutions, etc. Degree Students who succeed will obtain the degree of Master of Economic Policy from the University of Antwerp.
